Messaging Service's plan has a high monthly fee of $39.95 for five extensions and 1500 monthly minutes, but the effective price per minute makes this plan inexpensive.  But other services we've reviewed offer significantly more extensions for a cheaper price.  If you want conference calling features, you should find a different service, as they don't offer any.  They do not offer a free trial of their service. They offer Find Me/Follow Me (which sets forwarding rules) and an auto attendant (which is a custom menu that directs calls). They also offer voicemail-to-email and voicemail alerts, but they do not offer voice-to-text transcription. You can save an unlimited number of messages for up to three weeks. They include receive and forward Internet fax service, which does not meet our Market Standard. Messaging Service offers high quality customer support, and they offer phone, live chat and email support seven days a week.

Pricing's Direct Receptionist 2 plan offers 1500 minutes and five extensions for $39.95 per month. This means that you pay $0.059 per minute, which inexpensive compared to other providers.

Phone Numbers will include a local number or 800, 866, 877 or 888 number for free with your monthly plan. does not offer international numbers, but you can get a vanity number for free with They charge a one-time fee of $25 to port an existing number you own into their system.

Online Interface provides a low quality online interface without a setup wizard to help you get started. In the interface you can access call logs, but you cannot make a blocked call list, store contacts, or set specific call handling rules.

Voicemail allows you to store voicemails online for up to three weeks. You can choose to receive voicemails directly in your email account or download them off of the online interface. does not offer text transcriptions of voicemails.

Call Handling offers Find Me/Follow Me call handling, which . One of the main functions of a PBX system is to set rules on how calls are handled when your number is dialed. While on a call, you cannot block a caller or place them on hold using just the phone’s keypad, but you can transfer the caller to voicemail. offers call screening capability but does not offer a Do Not Disturb option, which makes your phone appear to be off to callers. They allow you to set up an auto attendant, or custom menu, but you cannot define how long a user can wait before the queue automatically directs his call somewhere. You cannot use to make a phone call while you’re outside the U.S. They provide relatively clear audio quality.

Conference Calling, Internet Faxing, and Mobile Apps does not currently offer phone conferencing capability. However, they do offer receive and forward online fax service, which does not meet our Market Standard of send and receive online fax. does not offer any mobile applications for smartphones.

Customer Support provides high quality phone customer service every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. They have an online FAQ, but it has hardly any information. They do not have any tutorials or online discussion forums.
