My1Voice offers a free trial for 30 days that includes 150 minutes. They offer Find Me/Follow Me and an auto-attendant, which meets our Market Standard. They also offer voicemail alerts by email and free voicemail-to-text transcription. You can also save an unlimited number of voicemails for up to 31 days and receive Internet faxes, as well. My1Voice offers high quality phone, live chat and email support that is available 24/7.

Pricing

My1Voice’s Starter plan provides 150 minutes and an unlimited amount of extensions for $10 per month. This cost translates to roughly 6.7 cents per included minute which makes My1Voice an excellent value. My1Voice also offers annual prepay pricing that grants an effective cost of $8.33 per month, which brings their price down to five and a half cents per minute. If 150 minutes isn’t enough to meet your needs, My1Voice also has a “Best Value” plan that includes 1000 minutes.

Phone Numbers

My1Voice offers a local or 866, 877, 888 toll-free number for free with your monthly fee. My1Voice does not offer 800 toll-free numbers at this time. You can get a vanity number or port an existing number for free. My1Voice does not provide international numbers.

Online Interface

My1Voice provides a high quality interface, but they do not offer a setup wizard to help you get started. All Virtual PBX services provide an online interface with which you customize and monitor your phone system. You may access call logs, make a block call list, store contacts, and set specific handling rules through the online interface. Handling rules include automatically rejecting certain callers, playing an informative message for a caller, sending a call to voicemail, an auto attendant or a particular extension. You cannot currently record phone calls with My1Voice.

Voicemail

My1Voice lets you store an unlimited number of voicemails for 31 days. My1Voice also offers the ability to download or receive a voicemail through your email. They also offer voicemail-to-text transcription for no additional charge.

Call Handling

My1Voice offers Find Me/Follow Me call handling capability which allows a series of numbers to by dialed in an order that you choose until the call is picked up or goes to voicemail.  One of the main functions of a PBX system is to set rules on how calls are handled when your number is dialed.  While on a call, you can transfer the caller to voicemail or place the call on hold using just your phone’s keypad, but you cannot block the caller using your keypad. My1Voice does not offer a Do Not Disturb option, which lets you turn off your extension to callers, but they do offer call screening. My1Voice allows you to set up an auto attendant, or custom menu, and you can define how long someone waits in a queue before an action is taken by the attendant. You can use My1Voice’s virtual calling card to make phone calls when outside of the U.S. My1Voice provides above average audio quality that is easy to hear.

Conference Calling, Internet Faxing, and Mobile Apps

My1Voice offers conference calling features. They do not provide particular moderator features, but they do allow an unlimited number of callers to be on a call at once.  My1Voice deducts the length of the call multiplied by the amount of callers from your regular minutes. My1Voice does not offer any mobile phone applications with their PBX service. They also provide receive-only internet fax.

My1Voice Simplifies Caller ID and Greeting Options for Virtual Phone System

Last week my1voice, the virtual PBX service from Protus, announced the addition of several new enhancements to make using the my1voice service even easier.

One new addition is the ability for small businesses to have their caller ID display their chosen my1voice extension before they answer the call. For businesses that have several extensions set up to give the illusion of a larger corporation, this new feature allows the person answering the call to answer with a specific greeting, such as “Thanks for calling our sales department.”

Also, my1voice has added a button on the online user interface that simplifies the process of changing your phone greetings. The user clicks on the button and my1voice calls the phone tied to that account and initiates a recording session to update the greeting.

“One of the most precious commodities in a small business is time,” says Steve Adams, vice president of marketing for Protus, the provider of my1voice. “When it comes to answering customer calls, a few minutes saved here and there really add up. Our customers have told us what we need to do to help them with this challenge and we’ve responded. It’s a great example of ‘crowdsourcing’ from a very involved crowd.”

Additional enhancements include:

  • More auto-attendant flexibility. Users can now determine how many times (one through five) the auto-attendant message before an action, such as hanging up, occurs.
  • The option to select a ring time of up to two minutes. Sometimes 60 seconds isn’t enough time to reach the phone, and now you have the option to extend the ring time for up to two minutes.
