Conclusion:
Innoport’s Jump Start plan offers a good deal if you don't need conference calling features or more than five extensions (they don't let you add extra extensions), but other services we've reviewed offer more minutes, extensions and features. Instead of a free trial, they give you a free credit of $20 or $35 upon account creation depending on the plan you select. This can make getting your money back rather convoluted if you decide their service isn't for you. While they do offer internet faxing and customer support, Innoport provides no clear advantage over their competitors at the time of this review.
Pricing
The Jump Start plan offered by Innoport costs $9.95 per month and includes five extensions and 150 minutes. The per-minute cost is 7 cents. They do not offer an annual prepayment discount.
Phone Numbers
Innoport provides a local or toll-free number with their service. 800 numbers are free and vanity numbers require a $35 setup fee. They do not have international numbers and you cannot port your existing number into their system.
Online Interface
Innoport has an average online interface and does not have a setup wizard to help get you started. The online interface gives users the ability to manage and control their account. They have comprehensive call logs and they let you make a blocked call list. You cannot record your calls with Innoport. You can make an online address book but cannot import contacts from Outlook. They do not allow you to set specific call handling rules.
Voicemail
With Innoport, you can store voicemails online for up to 31 days. You also have the option of archiving your voicemails indefinitely for an additional fee. You can receive voicemails via email, but they do not offer voicemail to text transcription. You also have the option to download voicemails.
Call Handling
Innoport offers Find Me/Follow Me call handling, which is a feature that forwards incoming calls to all of your different phone numbers until you are reached. One of the main functions of a PBX system is to set rules on how calls are handled when your number is dialed. While on a call, you cannot block a caller or start recording the call using just the keypad. However, you can transfer the caller to voicemail and place the call on hold using just the keypad. They offer call screening but not Do Not Disturb, a feature that allows you to ignore all incoming calls. You may set up an auto attendant, or custom menu, that lets callers decide where they need to be routed. But you cannot define how long someone waits in a queue before the system reroutes them. You cannot use your PBX system to make phone calls when outside of the U.S. The audio quality is relatively clear.
Conference Calling, Internet Faxing, and Mobile Apps
Innoport does not let you make conference calls, but they do offer an Internet fax service. Their fax service allows you to send and receive faxes. Innoport does not have any mobile applications available for smartphone users.
Customer Support
Innoport provides excellent customer support. Their phone customer support is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET. They have FAQs as well as tutorials, but they are not searchable. They do not have forums for customers to ask questions.
